MTV’s “Scream” TV series isn’t dead, even if we haven’t heard much from it in recent months. In fact, it may be closer than ever to moving forward.

UpAndComers.com has it on good authority that MTV has almost found its three leads. They claim young stars (don’t expect to recognize any of their names) John Karna, Carlson Young and Amadeus Sarafini are among the top choices to lead the television reboot of Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven’s seminal horror franchise.

According to the site, “Young is said to be MTV’s top pick to play the role of Brooke Maddox, a 16-year-old who is described as ‘the high gloss queen bee who thinks she’s nice and the world’s just reading her wrong, capable of being bubbly and seemingly-genuine and also capable of being ferociously sexy.'”

As for the two dudes, they an fill any of these three character’s shoes: Noah Foster, a “creative, brilliant and tech-savvy” friend of Audrey’s; Will Belmont, a “tall, very attractive” basketball player; and Kiernan Wilcox, a smart and new student at school who is “more mature than his peers.”

We’ll see what happens. If this casting news pans out, it means “Scream” will be prank-calling us in the very near future.
