Death Note Adam Wingard Nat Wolff

THE FAULT IN OUR STARS and PAPER TOWNS actor Nat Wolff wasn't able to land the gig as the new Spider-Man, but according to Variety, he is in final talks to star as the lead in Warner Bros.' live-action film version of the manga/anime series Death Note. While the character isn't mentioned by name in the site's report, based on the description ("a student who discovers a supernatural notebook that allows him to kill anyone simply by writing the victim’s name"), it sounds like he will be playing Light Yagami.

Adam Wingard (THE GUEST, YOU'RE NEXT) is set to direct the adaptation, and production is expected to begin this spring. Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Jason Hoffs and Masi Oka are producing the film, and THE LAZARUS EFFECT and FANTASTIC FOUR scribe Jeremy Slater wrote the most recent draft of the script.

Now that Wingard's DEATH NOTE has seemingly found its Light Yagami, who do you think should play Ryuk, the bored death spirit who drops the notebook into the human realm?
