NBC taps “Lost” scribe Carlton Cuse to adapt supernatural western “The 6th Gun”

Such a good concept, hardly ever executed…

Another supernatural western is headed toward our way, this one a small-screen adaptation of Oni Press’ graphic novel series “The 6th Gun.” NBC has turned to “Lost” scribe Carlton Cuse to co-write the script with Ryan Condal, both will produce for Universal Television in some capacity as well.

Created by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt:

“The 6th Gun” is the story of six mythical guns in the Old West. When the Sixth Gun, the most powerful and dangerous of the group, resurfaces in the hands of an innocent girl named Becky Montcrief, dark forces reawaken.

Since that’s a bit vague, here’s a more in depth Amazon thumbnail:

During the darkest days of the Civil War, wicked cutthroats came into possession of six pistols of otherworldly power. In time the Sixth Gun, the most dangerous of the weapons, vanished. When the gun surfaces in the hands of an innocent girl, dark forces reawaken. Vile men thought long dead set their sights on retrieving the gun and killing the girl. Only Drake Sinclair, a gunfighter with a shadowy past, stands in their way.

Don’t know…I think I’d rather see this as a movie rather than a TV show. Sounds cool enough though either way, right?
