New Captain Marvel set videos reveal the construction of a fated crash site

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

These days, it feels like everyone is doing their best to get a sneak-peek of the Brie Larson-led Marvel film, CAPTAIN MARVEL. In just the past few weeks, we've seen behind-the-scenes footage of the film's production taken by individuals either chilling out on rooftops or pretending to be passersby, on the street. Now, we've got a series of videos courtesy of a speedboat drive-by! Is no movie set sacred anymore? What have we become?

Alight, alright. Enough of that, now. As you can see from the videos posted below, the film construction crew of CAPTAIN MARVEL are hard at work erecting the set of a nasty crash on the sandy shore of Shaver Lake, California. While there's no telling what type of aircraft it is, my best guess would be that we're looking at the remnance of Carol Danver's military craft. I mean, it could be that the set isn't finished yet (obviously), and that with enough elbow grease this will be the crash site of the Kree vessel partially responsible for giving Carol her powers. We'll have to wait for more information to be certain, though I'll eat my Captain Marvel #1 if it doesn't turn out the be the first thing I'd mentioned.

Shooting at Shaver Lake is expected to begin next week. In the meantime, why don't we take a moment to remind ourselves of what CAPTAIN MARVEL is all about, shall we? Here's the official synopsis for the upcoming Marvel action film:

The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When CAPTAIN MARVEL bursts on the big screen March 8, 2019, the film will star Brie Larson alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Jude Law, Clark Gregg, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, and newly added cast member, Annette Bening.
