New easter egg-filled viral clip and extended IMAX preview for Ant-Man

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

ANT-MAN is gearing up for it’s release in just 9 days with the online version of the IMAX extended preview shown in front of JURASSIC WORLD as well as a new viral clip that reveals more about Scott Lang’s origin story. Both clips deliver in their own unique ways to build excitement for what is shaping up to be a really fun movie.

First up, the new viral clip follows IRON MAN character Christine Everhart as she continues her coverage of the aftershocks of the Sokovia events in AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON as well as her building story about Scott Lang. From this video, we now know that Paul Rudd‘s character ends up in prison for revealing trade secrets belonging to his former employer VistaCorp. The reveal that he was trying to be a whistleblower reduces the idea of Lang being just a thief and gives him more of a heroic slant.

The viral video promises an upcoming interview between Lang and Everhart, so stay tuned for that. Also, keep an eye out on the news crawl at the bottom of the video for updates on Baron Von Strucker, Jane Foster, and potential happenings in Wakanda.

The IMAX extended preview for ANT-MAN clocks in at just over five minutes and plays like a combination of clips and existing trailers. The result is a bit unevenly edited but still delivers on the comedy side of the film. I still wonder what Edgar Wright‘s movie would have looked like but it does seem like Paul Rudd and Peyton Reed may have struck the right balance to make this movie a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe while also feeling like a unique project.

ANT-MAN opens in theaters on July 17th.
