GHOST IN THE SHELL will close out a busy March this year, and contrary to many people’s negative feelings over the casting of Scarlett Johansson, and the overall existence of the remake, it hopes to be another big earner for the starlet. A lot people still aren’t sold on it, but others think it looks undeniably cool. For those of you on the fence a new TV spot for the movie has dropped before it officially airs during the Super Bowl this Sunday. If you’re like me and don’t know what the Super Bowl is, and still think football is a kind of ankle wart you can just watch it here and now!
There’s not a whole lot new here than from the first trailer, with some more of Pilou Asbæk’s Batou and an exposing of Johansson’s under-face at the end being the exception. I’m still not totally sold on the movie. It could be a fun little distraction but director Rupert Sanders failed deliver the goods with SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTMAN, so I’m not terribly confident in him here. Johansson will probably rock it like always, so I could be wrong. I usually am, according to my friends and family.
