The teaser trailer for IT: CHAPTER TWO hit the internet minutes ago (we just shared it HERE), and while there wasn't a whole lot of Bill Skarsgård's Pennywise on display in the teaser the actor suggests that we'll be seeing a Pennywise who is angry and vengeful in the full film.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Skarsgård said that

The arc of the first movie is that he, for the first time, experiences fear himself. His last line — ‘Fear…’ — is him experiencing it for the first time, and he’s sort of shocked and perplexed and surprised. Like, what is this? He’s inflicted fear on his prey, and he’s very focused on fear, but he’s never experienced it himself. Now he’s experienced something that he has been inflicting on others and … there’s a shift leading into the second movie. It fuels hatred and anger towards the kids, who will be adults in this one, so I think there might be an even more vicious Pennywise. He’s really going after it."

As if he weren't troublesome enough already! Even playing him is troubling – in the interview, Skarsgård admitted that he has had recurring nightmares about Pennywise, and said the realization that he didn't have to deal with the darkness of the character anymore after production wrapped on CHAPTER TWO felt like "an exorcism".

James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean play the adult versions of the Losers Club who will have to go up against this more vicious Pennywise in the new film. IT: CHAPTER TWO has the following synopsis:

Twenty-seven years after the horrific events of the summer of 1989, It returns. The Losers' Club fulfills their promises and returns to Derry to put an end to the shape-shifting beast once and for all.

Jaeden Martell, Wyatt Oleff, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, and Jack Dylan Grazer are also back in the roles of the child versions of the Losers Club characters.

Directed by Andy Muschietti from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman that was, of course, based on the classic novel IT by Stephen King, IT: CHAPTER TWO was produced by Barbara Muschietti, Dan Lin, and Roy Lee, with Marty Ewing, Seth Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg serving as executive producers.

The film is scheduled to reach theatres on September 6th.
