Neve Campbell and David Arquette are back as Sidney Prescott and Dewey Riley in the new Scream movie, and in a new batch of Scream 5 images released by Total Film magazine (via Games Radar) they’re ready to open fire on the latest version of the iconic slasher Ghostface. Ghostface is also featured in a couple of the newly released images, which can be seen below, along with one of the unlucky victims. The new Scream is set to reach theatres on January 14, 2022 and is a sequel to the previous Screams despite simply being called Scream itself.

The new Scream is coming to us from Ready or Not (watch it HERE) directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The screenplay was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Vanderbilt also produced the film for Project X Entertainment, alongside Paul Neinstein and William Sherak. Chad Villella, Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, and Marianne Maddalena serve as executive producers alongside original Scream writer Kevin Williamson. You can read our set visit interview with the directors at THIS LINK.

The film has the following synopsis:

Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.

The actors mentioned above are joined in the cast by Melissa Barrera, Dylan Minnette, Jack Quaid, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Kyle Gallner, Sonia Ammar, Jenna Ortega, Campbell and Arquette’s fellow franchise star Courteney Cox, and Scream 4‘s Marley Shelton. You can read our set visit interview with cast members HERE.

Scream is the cover story in the new issue of Total Film magazine, which will be available on November 11th. The issue includes interviews with cast members, Williamson, and directors Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett.
