There are some very big spoilers below for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. Huge. Whale penis sized spoilers. It is rumored in the article from Movie Web that some of the stuff being filmed right now might end up in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3 but the plot points I’m about to get into will appear in the new movie out next year. Movie Web has some new images and information about THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. The biggest news might be that Green Goblin DOES appear in the new movie. Back in April Marc Webb tweeted an image of himself in a giant glass case and it looks exactly like the one in this photo from Movie Web.
Movie Web claims that the case is used to contain Norman Osborne (Chris Cooper) after his transformation into the Green Goblin and he will make his first appearance in the big climax for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2. Movie Web also has a photo of a mock-up Green Goblin glider. It’s a little difficult to make out but it definitely looks like it could be a glider.
It was also revealed that Electro (when he is over metal) will be able to fly in the new film and the first time he is seen by the people of New York it is when he comes flying out of a billboard and begins hovering around Time Square. Here’s a picture of a model electronic billboard that apparently Electro gets thrown through during one of his battles with Spider-Man from Movie Web:
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 will also dive deeper into the mysterious deaths of Peter Parker’s parents. Movie Web claims we will see a flashback to their deaths which involves Mary Parker being shot on a plane and that causes it to crash, killing her and Richard Parker.
One last bit of news but it’s not nearly as important as the other stuff. Spider-Man’s costume will have a built in mp3 player and one of the fight scenes will feature loud rock music that only Spidey can hear. The scene in the new movie is when he battles Rhino and apparently it is similar to the fight scene between Spider-Man and the Lizard in the first film that had the Stan Lee cameo.
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field, Chris Cooper, Felicity Jones, Colm Feore and B.J. Novak will be in theaters May 2nd, 2014.
