New Veronica Mars teaser promises shady dealings and Spring break explosions

When VERONICA MARS makes its triumphant return back to television this summer, the city of Neptune, California will be hit by a crime wave that promises to keep things dangerously hot, as the Balboa County's Spring break shenanigans heat up. My advice to all criminals is beware, because the sunny spot is about to get a visit from Neptune's very own super sleuth, and you'd be a fool to think that you can mess with Mars Investigations' home turf and not get burned.

Hulu has released a full trailer for its upcoming revival of VERONICA MARS, in which Kristen Bell's beloved crime-foiling character investigates a major crime wave during Neptune’s Spring break celebrations.

Here's the official synopsis for the upcoming season:

Spring breakers are getting murdered in Neptune, thereby decimating the seaside town’s lifeblood tourist industry. After Mars Investigations is hired by the parents of one of the victims to find their son’s killer, Veronica is drawn into an epic eight-episode mystery that pits the enclave’s wealthy elites, who would rather put an end to the month-long bacchanalia, against a working class that relies on the cash influx that comes with being the West Coast’s answer to Daytona Beach.

Original VERONICA MARS creator Rob Thomas has been hired to write the first episode of the new season and will executive produce with Bell and series veterans Diane Ruggiero-Wright and Dan Etheridge. Set five years after the events of the Veronica Mars' 2014 feature film, Bell will star as whip-smart investigator alongside original cast members Enrico Colantoni, Ryan Hansen, Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra, David Starzyk, Max Greenfield and Adam Rose. Joining them for Hulu's long-awaited revival are Dawnn Lewis (A DIFFERENT WORLD, DREAMGIRLS), J.K. Simmons (WHIPLASH, JUNO), and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (THE GOOD PLACE), with Patton Oswalt (YOUNG ADULT, SEEKING A FRIEND AT THE END OF THE WORLD) and many more.

All right episodes of VERONICA MARS will arrive courtesy of Hulu on Friday, July 26th.
