Night Drive for Bennett

Variety have been known to drop a lot of news. From blockbuster announcements to small snippets of information. One thing we don’t really see coming from Variety are reports on original horror movies.

Well today we have one of those reports. According to Variety, Myriad Pictures have just picked up the horror film DRIVE THE NIGHT. Just hop right up on the moon and drive it away.

Iffy title aside, this one actually sounds pretty cool. DRIVE THE NIGHT is about a couple who get lost on a haunted road in the Australian Outback and spend the night fighting for their lives. A couple flicks that come to mind are VACANCY, which was awesome, and WOLF CREEK, which I found to be not so awesome. The kicker is the term ‘haunted road,’ which sets this one apart.

So needless to say, DRIVE THE NIGHT has found it’s way onto my radar. Studio 407 are even planning on bringing a comicbook version of DRIVE THE NIGHT to us, which doesn’t have a release date yet.

DRIVE THE NIGHT was written and will be directed by Bill Bennett (above). Shooting starts this summer in Australia.

I’d love to go on a night drive with her… or a day drive… or any other drive… hell we don’t even have to drive.
