Night of the Demons 2 (1994) Revisited – Horror Movie Review

Director Kevin S. Tenney’s 1988 horror film Night of the Demons (watch it HERE) is a Halloween season classic, fondly remembered for Amelia Kinkade’s performance as the teen-turned-demon Angela, ridiculous lines delivered by a character named Stooge, and a moment involving genre icon Linnea Quigley and a tube of lipstick. A lot of horror fans watch Night of the Demons every October – but in the latest episode of the video series The Black Sheep, we’re turning the spotlight on the 1994 sequel Night of the Demons 2 (watch it at THIS LINK). To find out why we feel this follow-up deserves more love, check out the video embedded above!

Directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith from a screenplay by James Penzi and Joe Augustyn (who also wrote the first movie), Night of the Demons 2 has the following synopsis:

For years, Hull House has sat in eerie silence – tales of its haunted past have turned into gory jokes and no one really believes anything ever happened there. While most of the student body at nearby St. Rita’s high school is excited about the ‘official’ Halloween dance, Shirley Fennerty intends to party elsewhere. That night, Shirley leads her friends to the ‘haunted’ mansion. Intent on giving them a good scare she pretends to conjure up the demons said to inhabit Hull House. But in the midst of her make-believe incantations, Angela, Queen of the Demons, appears. Suddenly, what was intended as an innocent evening of fun and games turns into a hell-raising, life threatening ordeal… They wanted fun… now they’re in for the trick-or-treat party of their lives!

Amelia Kinkade reprises the role of Angela and is joined in the cast by Zoe Trilling, Merle Kennedy, Cristi Harris, Darin Heames, Robert Jayne, Rod McCary, Johnny Moran, Rick Peters, Jennifer Rhodes, Ladd York, Mark Neely, Rachel Longaker, and Christine Taylor.
