Well if your like all of us here at AITH, you’ve been following FEAR ITSELF very closely. Personally, I only missed the pilot episode, but I was able to catch all the rest.. and it seems like I’m the only person in the world who actually liked last week’s entry: COMMUNITY.
Well… as was expected… it doesn’t look like FEAR ITSELF is doing as great as we’d hope. iFMagazine recently caught up with NBC/Universal Studios Co-Chairman Ben Silverman and quized him a bit on how FEAR ITSELF is doing.
Now Mr. Silverman gave word that FEAR ITSELF is actually doing better than expected! … but not good enough to ensure a season 2. Now I’m a bit confused by that… if the show is doing better than expected… why wouldn’t a season 2 be greenlit?
When asked about the possibility of a Season 2, Silverman responded:
“We’re still debating. The partnership is so strong, you almost can’t lose at the business deal we have. It’s whether we can do better, which we want to do.”
Now iFMagazine see this as an almost definite ‘No.’ But I’m seeing this as a definite possibility. Sounds like all Silverman needs is the material… and there’s obviously PLENTY of genre minds out there to sign up.
Now it’s no secret that so far, FEAR ITSELF hasn’t been anything to take note of… but come on people… it’s not reality TV! It’s a horror anthology on a Thursday night. Maybe I’m only running my opinion here… but even if the horror stories are horrible and predictable… it’s still better than reality TV. Hell… I’d even go as far as letting Uwe Boll take a shot at an episode!

So what’s your take on a potential FEAR ITSELF Season 2? Put it out there for a second run and see what happens or lay it to rest after this season wraps up… which Silverman confirmed WILL finish at least.
