Noomi Rapace is having a very bad time in the Rupture trailer

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Our own Eric Walkuski got to see director Steven Shainberg's sci-fi thriller RUPTURE at the Fantasia International Film Festival a couple months ago, and while he wasn't blown away by it – he gave it a 6/10 review – it does sound like the movie makes for an interesting viewing experience.

RUPTURE is set to reach theatres and VOD on November 4 in the UK, and while we wait for that date Empire has gotten the exclusive first look at the trailer, which is embedded below.

Scripted by Shainberg and HARD CANDY / 30 DAYS OF NIGHT / DEVIL writer Brian Nelson, the film stars Noomi Rapace as a single mother who is abducted by a mysterious organization.

Tied up in their lab, they question her about her medical history, eventually revealing that she has a genetic abnormality that her worst fear can cause her to "rupture" — causing her own alien nature to be released.

Michael Chiklis, Peter Stormare, Kerry Bishé, and Ari Millen co-star.

I have no idea what's truly going on in this movie, but it appears to quite intense and I like the cinematography and the cast, so I'm down to check out RUPTURE.
