THE LOVELY BONES is set to be a prettty wicked flick. It’s got a twisted story, an award winning director, and a slew of big names in the cast… So what’s the hold up?
Earlier I was across the border and saw that those sexy, sexy men over at JoBlo reported on word from Paramount that THE LOVELY BONES has been delayed. How delayed? About 7-8 months. From it’s original March 09 release date to ‘Fall 2009.’
So why the delay? Who knows. It’s pointed out that LOVELY BONES has been suffering from some in house trouble, with Ryan Gosling leaving the project early on because of ‘creative differences.’
THE LOVELY BONES is based off the novel by Alice Sebold. The synopsis reads: A young girl who was brutally raped and murdered, watches the effects of her death on her family from Heaven, as her parents drift apart, her father becomes obsessed with vengeance and her sister grows into the woman she would never be.
Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens all penned the script with Jackson set to direct. The cast includes: Mark Wahlberg, Rachel Weisz (below), Susan Sarandon, Saoirse Ronan, Stanley Tucci, Michael Imperioli, Amanda Michalka, Nikki SooHoo, and Anna George among others.
