Matthijs van Heijningen’s prequel to THE THING is currently filming in Canada, but that hasn’t stopped them from finishing up their casting decisions, regardless of how late in the game it may be.

It appears as though Jonathan Walker has joined Mary Elizabeth Winstead (below) and Joel Edgerton in the film, detailing the events of the Norwegian base-camp we see briefly in John Carpenter’s THE THING.

You may recognize Walker from such films as SHOOTER and LAND OF THE DEAD, or from TV shows, including SMALLVILLE and FLASH GORDON. He’ll be playing a radio operator in the Norwegian camp.

Now that they’ve completed casting the flick, hopefully this will allow for more time to spend making the flick be as good as it could possibly be. Stick around for more on THE THING prequel as we hear it!
