Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who followed in the footsteps of the iconic Mr. T to play B.A. Baracus in the 2010 version of The A-Team, Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Mission: Impossible III), and model Sonia Couling star in the World War II horror film Operation Blood Hunt, which recently wrapped production in Bangkok, Thailand. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Operation Blood Hunt is described as being like “Predator meets The Dirty Dozen meets Underworld“.

Directed by Louis Mandylor (Christmas Down Under) from a screenplay by Brandon Slagle (Battle for Saipan), the film follows prolific expert of the occult and whiskey, The Reverend, who accompanies a ragtag group of military rejects to a remote South Pacific Island to investigate the disappearance of Marine units stationed there in 1944, said to be at the hands of the Japanese Imperial Army. Upon speaking with the island’s inhabitants, the group soon discovers the Marines had actually been massacred by a group of Lycanthropes, known to most as Werewolves.

Daemon Hillin produced Operation Blood Hunt, while Jackson served as an executive producer alongside Landon Gorman of BGG Capital, Rachvin Narula and Kulthep Narula of Benetone Films, and Ellan Wander and Jordan Dykstra of Film Bridge International.

Hillin said the film is “very unique” and “has a cool comic book feel to it.” He also noted that the production used custom built mechanical werewolves that had fully animated faces, all done by remote control.

World War II werewolves? I’m already sold on Operation Blood Hunt! That mixture brings to mind the movie Dog Soldiers, which I always described as “Predator with werewolves”.
