Paramount’s Friday the 13th reboot to hit theaters in 2015

No, that's not a typo in the headline: a new Jason movie is in the works, and it will be a reboot. Paramount picked up the rights to the horror franchise from Warner Bros. in June in exchange for the rights to co-produce Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated INTERSTELLAR, and the studio has announced that the thirteenth film in the series will land in theaters on March 13th, 2015.

The 2009 film was also a reboot, so what will make this movie different from the previous one? Solid plans for FRIDAY THE 13TH haven't been released, but several sites have speculated the reboot will be a found footage film, which has been very popular (and profitable) for horror movies in recent years.

Really though, another reboot? I'm not the biggest Jason fan, but I'm sure there are some that aren't happy at all with this news. And if the reboot does end up being shot as found footage, will the style turn off hardcore fans of the series? It'll be interesting to see how Paramount will handle the latest reboot of the horror movie icon.
