Whether we like it or not A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET is getting re-made. It’s happening people. It’s actually happening as you read this. Hurts right? I know. I’m sorry. But if it’s any help the newest post over at Platinum Dunes’ official blog shows some hope at least…
Then again it’s a blog post from the guys making the movie… of course it’s positive. But considering it’s some hardcore praise for one Jackie Earle Haley I find it very believable! “Jackie is playing to role with incredible intensity. His Freddy doesn’t tell jokes, he is simply terrifying. “ Oh I’m loving that right there! Sure… Freddy’s sense of humor is one of the major things that makes Freddy.. Freddy, but if you remember correctly he wasn’t his usual comedic self for most of the original. So I’m definitely all for a terrifying Freddy!

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET is currently filming in Chicago and is already looking at an April 16th, 2010 release date. It stars Haley as the fedora wearing beauty along with Rooney Mara, Kyle Gallner, Thomas Dekker, Katie Cassidy (below), and Clancy Brown.
