Conan O’Brien scolds three slackers on the hunt for riches in Peacock’s Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain trailer

In the Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Bottom trailer, three friends try to save their reputations by finding buried treasure.

Zany comedy is alive and well, thanks to Paul Briganti’s (Greener GrassKids ReenactObvious ChildPlease Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain. Reminiscent of films like Dude, Where’s My CarHarold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and Rat Race, today’s Please Don’t Destroy trailer finds three losers hoping to make a name for themselves by finally uncovering the lost treasure of Foggy Bottom. Unfortunately for the dim-witted trio, everyone and their grandmother knows about the jackpot and will stop at nothing to claim its prize of a rumored $100 million in spoils.

John Goodman narrates the adventure of Ben, Martin, and John, three childhood friends turned deadbeat co-workers, who fend off hairless bears, desperate park rangers (Meg Stalter and X Mayo), and a hypocritical cult leader (Bowen Yang) in the hopes of finding a priceless treasure, only to discover that finding the treasure is the easiest part of their journey. Oh, and Conan O’Brien plays Ben’s dad in it. Produced by Judd Apatow (Superbad) and Jimmy Miller (Bad Teacher), the film is written, executive produced by, and starring Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, and Ben Marshall — aka the Please Don’t Destroy guys — and directed by Paul Briganti (Saturday Night Live).

Martin Herlihy, John Higgins, Ben Marshall, Paul Briganti, Josh Church, Sam Hansen, Matt Riley, and Michael Sledd produce, with Albertina Rizzo co-producing.

Peacock‘s Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Bottom begins with Conan O’Brien scolding his son and his two friends about being late to work after discovering they bought alcohol for minors at a local convenience store. Feeling like losers, the trio decides to change their reputation by finding the treasure of Foggy Bottom. On their way to the rumored burial site, the group runs afoul of park rangers, a cult, and wildlife with a taste for violence! Can the boys find the treasure and salvage their honor? Probably not.

I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve experienced an honest-to-goodness madcap comedy with unpredictable twists, an impressive cast of seasoned comedians, animal danger, and recurring gags that manage to hit their mark even in a trailer. I’m talking about the eagle, of course. Hilarious! What do you think of Peacock’s Please Don’t Destroy trailer? Let us know in the comments below!

Please Don’t Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Bottom exclusively premieres on Peacock on November 17, 2023.
