Way back in April we gave you guys a look at some early teaser art for Epic Pictures’ upcoming creature feature MEGA SPIDER. What is MEGA SPIDER about? Exactly what you’d think it’s about – a giant spider attacking a city. Bam! Do you even need to know any more? No, but I’m going to tell you anyway.
We just scored a press release today advertising the fact that MEGA SPIDER has officially entered production, with shooting beginning a few days ago on September 6th. Described as ‘a TREMORS-style creature feature about a towering mutant arachnid on an 8-legged rampage across Los Angeles,’ MEGA SPIDER is coming at us from director Mike Mendez and scribe Gregory Gieras.
A 50 feet tall alien spider escapes from a military lab and rampage the city of Detroit. When a massive military strike fails, it is up to a team of scientists and one clever exterminator to kill the creature before the city is destroyed.
MEGA SPIDER sports a cast that includes Greg Grunberg, Lombardo Boyar, Clare Kramer (below) and Ray Wise. Producer Patrick Ewald describes the flick as: “..a falming, flashing, crashing blow-’em-up movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.” Well let’s hope so Mr. Ewald!
