Some interesting news coming in today via AICN. The other day Ammon told you all about how Bloody-Disgusting had heard a rumor that Paul Thomas Anderson’s next film was possibly going to be a horror film.

Of course this news made all us genre fans smile, seeing how Anderson is the brilliant director behind flicks like BOOGIE NIGHTS, MAGNOLIA, and THERE WILL BE BLOOD, which is looking to tear it up at the Oscars.

Well Ain’t It Cool News decided to ask the man himself. His response?

News to me. I thought I just made a horror film….
Wish I had something to report, but I’m dry as a bone…
pta.

So there you have it, unfortunately. Mind you, as AICN points out, this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a no-go. I don’t blame Anderson on waiting to sign onto his next project, with the Oscars and BLOOD looking to be so amazing (I plan on checking it out asap), he’s probably just riding the high right now. Or maybe he is looking into something but can’t talk about it? Who knows. For now we all sit disappointed with a tad bit of hope left in us.

Correction – BOOGIE NIGHTS star Heather Graham
