Eons ago, a rumour gained prominence that Rachel McAdams was in final negotiations for the female lead in DOCTOR STRANGE; flash foward to the present day and Rachel McAdams herself has confirmed that she is indeed up for the role but that those final negotiations aren't quite as final as we were led to believe. Rachel McAdams spoke with The LA Times to confirm the rumour:
It's still super-early days, and I don't know where that's gonna go, if it's gonna go anywhere at all.

Should discussions move beyond early talks, Rachel McAdams would join Benedict Cumberbatch as the title character, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, and Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One. As Marvel contracts typically include multiple films, I suppose that McAdams needs to decide whether or not she wants to be attached to Marvel for years to come. I've got my fingers crossed that everything works out as Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, and Rachel McAdams would be one hell of a cast.
