I’m sure most have heard of the Swedish film LET THE RIGHT ONE IN. It’s one of those international horror flicks that’s supposed to be extremely good, in the same group as [REC] and THE ORPHANAGE (which didn’t live up to the hype for me.).
And like those other two films, LET THE RIGHT ONE IN has already warrented a remake here in the US. Mike last told you about it last month, where Bloody Disgusting dropped word that J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot was set to scoop up the rights.
Well the guys over at Bloody Disgusting are doing a 180 and now say that Hammer Films are actually going to be tackling the remake. They’re even saying it might end up as an online series. Time will tell I guess.
LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is about a bullied 12-year old boy named Oskar who dreams of revenge. He falls in love with Eli, a peculiar girl. She can’t stand the sun or food and to come into a room she needs to be invited. Eli gives Oskar the strength to hit back but when he realizes that Eli needs to drink other peoples blood to live he’s faced with a choice. How much can love forgive?
Intense. Sounds like good, twisted stuff. We’ll keep you updated once we hear any more news on this remake.
