Don’t get all excited yet (or don’t start dry heaving yet, whichever). HOSTEL PART III is not confirmed in any way.
The news rolling in from Bloody Disgusting is that Eli Roth recently spoke on a potential HOSTEL PART III, not that he is doing one. BD recently talked to Roth and asked him what the chances were to see the Elite Hunting back in action. Roth said if we (the fans) wanted the film bad enough, and Sony got on board, he wouldn’t stand in the way.
Now that’s pretty much how BD put it, and from that I can’t tell if Roth means he’d step back in to make it, or if he’d let someone else pick it up. I have to assume he means he’d take the helm, considering HOSTEL is his brain child. And I won’t mention the whole thing with Roth, HOSTEL PART II leaking to the net, and all that.
Now I liked HOSTEL, it was a pretty cool flick. I didn’t find HOSTEL PART II as cool, but it wasn’t horrible. HOSTEL PART III? If Sony were to give it a ‘yes,’ and that’s a big if considering the state of the ‘torture porn’ films in Hollywood, then I’d be down. I’m sure Eli could come up with some sweet new ideas and it’d be a nice deal to tie the whole HOSTEL saga off in a trilogy. What do you think? After all, he did say it’s up to us, the fans. Anyway, HOSTEL PART II hits DVD shelves this Tuesday, so be sure to pick it up. We’ll keep you updated on any HOSTEL news.
