Rumor: Jason Statham being sought to play Bullseye in Netflix’s Daredevil

Daredevil Jason Statham Bullseye Banner

Sometimes a rumor is just too good to be true, but I have my fingers crossed that Latino-Review’s Daredevil scoop is legit. Jason Statham was recently spotted having a meeting with Marvel, and a source tells the site that the actor is being eyed to play Bullseye in the second season of the Netflix series.

LR goes on to say they’ve heard Elektra will appear in the upcoming season, which isn’t a huge surprise since the character was teased in the first season, however the site is also claiming it will feature other Daredevil villains as well, like Mr. Fear and Mysterio. I’m not sure if Sony has the rights to Mysterio because of his connection to Spider-Man, but even if they do, they might let Marvel use the character since the studios are now playing nice with each other.

Although Mysterio may be better known as a Spider-Man villain, the character played a big role in the eight-issue story arc “Guardian Devil,” which also involved Karen Page. The Kevin Smith-penned story is one of my all-time favorite Daredevil comics, and I would absolutely love to see it come to life on the small screen. Do you think there’s any truth to these Daredevil rumors, and would you be OK with Jason Statham playing Bullseye?

Daredevil season 2 will premiere on Netflix in 2016.
