Rumor: Rob Zombie’s Munsters reboot to be Peacock+ exclusive!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Last month, we reported on a rumor that rocker-turned-filmmaker Rob Zombie would be developing a reboot of the classic horror-comedy sitcom The Munsters (which shouldn't come as a surprise to fans, as Zombie's hit song "Dragula" is literally about the Munster family's car).

Now, our friends at Bloody-Disgusting have heard rumors (emphasis on rumors, as nothing has been confirmed as of yet) that the project – if it does indeed exist – would be an exclusive on Peacock+, and "will open day-and-date in theaters via Universal Pictures/UPHE, similar to what Warner Bros. is doing with HBO Max.

Now, the original report about the rumored reboot – from Murphy's Multiverse – stated that:

Production on the film is currently set to begin in Budapest in early May. Two of Zombie’s usual suspects have been cast as leads in the comedy with Jeff Daniel Phillips set as Herman Munster and Zombie’s wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, set as Lily Munster. Dan RoebuckJorge Garcia and Richard Brake have also joined the cast in major roles and Cassandra Peterson, better known as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, has also joined on in a supporting role.

No release date has been set for the film at this time.

So what do you guys think? Fans of Zombie? If so, looking forward to his potential Munsters reboot? Either way, sound off below!
