Hide your wife and hide your kids, there is going to be another installment in THE PURGE franchise. While I haven’t seen THE PURGE: ANARCHY, I have heard a lot of good things about it. That being said, if you’re comparing it to the incredible waste that was the original movie then I’m sure it’s watchable. One of the coolest concepts in years was drilled with so many plot holes and unanswered questions I still really haven’t recovered, but here we are with the new of another sequel.
James DeMonaco will return to write the script but it’s not decided yet whether he will direct or pass those duties onto someone else.
DeMonaco told Deadline:
“I never imagined that The Purge would become the phenomenon it has become and I am thrilled to continue my collaboration with Blumhouse, Sebastien Lemercier, Platinum Dunes and the great team at Universal in building The Purge into a worldwide franchise.”
