Multiple Scream 5 scripts and edits exist to avoid spoilers

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

So this is interesting! Our friends over at Bloody-Disgusting just learned that the filmmakers behind the upcoming Scream 5 – Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of the filmmaking group Radio Silence (Ready or Not, V/H/S, Southbound) – not only wrote multiple drafts of the script (like original writer Kevin Williamson did for Scream 2 when the original script leaked online back in the '90s), but also shot multiple alternate scenes and created multiple edits of the film to avoid potential leaks or spoilers (considering it's easier to leak things on the internet now than it was twenty years ago!)

Meanwhile, not much else is known about the sequel, other than that it stars original cast members Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, and that it will come stalking into theaters January 14, 2022!

So what do you guys think? Fans of the original series? If so, looking forward to the sequel? Either way, sound off below!
