Scream 6 and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves get new release dates

Paramount Pictures has changed the March 2023 release dates for Scream 6 and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.Paramount Pictures has changed the March 2023 release dates for Scream 6 and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

Paramount Pictures has just decided to shake up their March plans. The studio had originally intended to get March 2023 started by releasing the game-inspired film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves on March 3rd. Then they were going to end the month by releasing the slasher sequel Scream 6 on March 31st. Now they have pushed Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves back four weeks and moved Scream 6 ahead three weeks.

Scream 6 is now set to reach theatres on March 10th. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will follow on March 31st. Paramount did not give a reason for these date changes.

Deadline notes that the March 10th release date puts Scream 6 in direct competition with the sci-fi thriller 65, a Sam Raimi production that stars Adam Driver and was directed by A Quiet Place writers Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, as well as the drama Inside, starring Willem Dafoe. Inside and Scream 6 probably won’t take much away from each other, but 65 might want to get out of Scream 6‘s way now.

On March 31st, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will be facing off with the musical drama Spinning Gold, starring Michelle Monaghan and Jason Isaacs; the boxing movie Heart of a Lion, starring Forest Whitaker; the Zach Braff drama A Good Person, which stars Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman; and the A.V. Rockwell crime movie A Thousand and One. It’s a busy day.

Directed by Scream 2022 directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett from a screenplay by Scream 2022 writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick, Scream 6 will show us what happens when

the four survivors of the Ghostface killings leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.

Those four survivors are the Scream 2022 characters played by returning stars Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, and Jenna Ortega. Courteney Cox is reprising the role of Gale Weathers. Jack Champion, Liana Liberato, Devyn Nekoda, Josh Segarra, Samara Weaving, Tony Revolori, Dermot Mulroney, and Henry Czerny have also been cast in unspecified roles. At this point, we don’t know if Neve Campbell is back at Sidney Prescott or not. She has said she wouldn’t be back, but rumors persist. And Scream 4‘s Hayden Panettiere is back as Kirby Reed. According to YouTuber Critical Overlord, it looks like Thomas Cadrot might be in the cast as well.

Directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley from a script they crafted with Michael Gilio (who shares story credit with Chris McKay), Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves follows

a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers as they embark on an epic quest to retrieve a lost relic. Things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people.

The film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, Daisy Head, Hugh Grant, and Jason Wong.
