Jay and Silent Bob

I use to be a huge Kevin Smith fanboy. I owned Brodie’s shirt from MALLRATS, the extra special editions of all his films, a bunch of signed comics, hell I even won a signed poster from this very website. Sure it was for JERSEY GIRL but I was still pumped.

Now I’ll still check out the guy’s films, however that excitement just isn’t there anymore. I know he just escaped Movie Jail by a good margin but his last few films have left me wanting more. I’m not ragging on the guy but even his strongest defenders have to admit that Kevin Smith hasn’t been at his best this past decade.

Before Kevin Smith starts CLERKS III (and retires, if he’s still sticking with that) he does have another movie that is about to be released: JAY & SILENT BOB’S SUPER GROOVY CARTOON MOVIE. Smith will go on tour with the animated film starting tomorrow (similar to what he did with RED STATE) and to celebrate he released the opening credits for the movie with an introduction from him and Jason Mewes.

JAY AND SILENT BOB’S SUPER GROOVY CARTOON MOVIE revolves around the two stoners becoming superheroes after winning the lottery. Kevin Smith regulars like Walt Flanagan, Bryan Johnson and Scott Mosier voice characters for the film and Eliza Dushku, Neil Gaiman, Jon Lovitz, Kevin Conroy and Stan Lee also make appearances. Is this movie going to change your life? No way. If your in the mood for weed, dick and fart jokes will you laugh? Probably.

Check out the opening credits below. If you missed it the first time I’ve also included the trailer for the film as well.

JAY AND SILENT BOB’S SUPER GROOVY CARTOON MOVIE tour starts April 20th. Oh, I see what they did there.
