We’re about a month away from the underwater superhero epic AQUAMAN, and so far, we’ve seen plenty of action-packed footage filled with gorgeous, awesome visual effects. While the movie is centered on the title character there are plenty of friends and foes that make up the kingdoms under the sea, and now a new batch of character posters give us the best look yet at some of the faces we’ll be seeing. Did I mention one of them is Dolph Lundgren riding a seahorse? Because there’s that.

Along with Lundgren’s King Nereus (on a seahorse), we have posters for Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Black Manta (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II), King Orm (Patrick Wilson), Princess Mera (Amber Heard), Queen Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) and Vulko (Willem Dafoe).
The future of the DC universe has been looking a little cloudy as of late, with production on a Flash movie going through several hurdles, and no one knowing what the hell is going on regarding the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman and Henry Cavill as Superman. What we do know that is that AQUAMAN looks like the result of director James Wan doing his own thing to separate this movie – at least visually and tonally – from the likes of BATMAN V. SUPERMAN and even JUSTICE LEAGUE. It remains to be seen if audiences will bite the lure, but at the very least this superhero outing looks like a feast for the eyes and Dolph Lundgren is riding a seahorse.
