A second trailer for Phillip Noyce's (PATRIOT GAMES, SALT) THE GIVER has been released, and it's the best look yet at the upcoming adaptation of Lois Lowry's YA novel. I should warn you though, if you're a fan of the book, you might not like a few of the things revealed in the latest trailer. It looks like the filmmakers have deviated quite a bit from the source material, which is a shame because the book is fantastic.

However there are a few things from the novel featured in the new trailer, including Brenton Thwaites' Jonas experiencing color for the first time, and Jeff Bridges' The Giver talking about how things aren't exactly as they seem in their "perfect" little world.

"There is no way for me to prepare you for the truth."

THE GIVER will likely be a little different compared to the book, but that's how it is for many adaptations, and I'm still very interested in checking it out.

THE GIVER will be in theaters on August 15, 2014.
