Yesterday, we featured the exclusive unveiling of the poster for director Stefan Ruzowitzky's upcoming pandemic thriller PATIENT ZERO, and now we have the film's trailer to share.

Starring former Doctor Who star Matt Smith, Game of Thrones' Natalie Dormer, and the legendary Stanley Tucci, along with Agyness Deyn and Clive Standen, PATIENT ZERO a new take on the zombie / infected people apocalypse scenario. The story, scripted by Mike Le, is set during a time when

humanity is battling intelligent, adrenaline-fueled creatures born from a viral super-strain. After being bitten, human survivor Morgan (Matt Smith) realizes he is asymptomatic and can communicate with the infected, leading the last survivors on a hunt for Patient Zero and a cure.

The trailer can be seen below, and while there appears to be the sort of zombie hordes you can usually expect from a project like this, I was surprised by Tucci's character. Plus there's a cameo by a zombified animal.

Produced by Vincent Newman, with Glenn S. Gainor and Steve Norris serving as executive producers, PATIENT ZERO is set to receive a Digital and VOD release courtesy of Vertical Entertainment on August 14th. A limited theatrical release will follow on September 14th.

Check out the trailer and see if this is a film you'd like to watch on VOD or on the big screen:
