With more money still to be made, Spider-Man: No Way Home has officially become Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing movie of all time as of today!

Spider-Man: No Way Home has grossed $516.4 million to date domestically, per “Deadline“, which pushes it ahead of the final domestic take of 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker ($515.2 million). Globally, the Spidey sequel has taken in $1.16 billion and that officially makes it Sony’s highest-grossing movie ever. Our favorite wall-crawler was their previous record-holder as Spider-Man: Far From Home had a final global take of $1.13 billion.

The impressive thing about the performance of No Way Home is that it’s breaking these records during the pandemic as the Omicron COVID variant is surging worldwide. For instance, the Sony film has accomplished the $516.4 million domestic feat in just 12 days while it took The Rise of Skywalker 91 days to finish with its domestic total. For those taking score, Spider-Man: No Way Home is also the highest-grossing domestic earner ever for Sony, No. 14 on the list of all-time grossing movies at the domestic box office, and the fifth highest-grossing MCU film stateside of all time. Keep in mind, it’s not even close to done yet collecting more money from moviegoers.

Currently, Spider-Man: No Way Home is running 9% ahead of the domestic total of Avengers: Infinity War in the same amount of days ($516.4 million vs. $472 million), 22% ahead of The Last Jedi ($423.3 million), and 52% ahead of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story ($340.6 million). Some believe that at its current pace the film could see a final domestic total in the $750-800 million range. An insane figure during the pandemic or any era. This is simply a blockbuster performance at its finest.
