Star Wars Celebration 2022 is officially underway, and the mood around California’s Anaheim Convention Center is excitable and surreal. JoBlo’s Alex Maidy is on location at the annual Star Wars event, and attendees are flocking to the arena in style. Today’s presentation played host to plenty of exciting announcements. Among them is that The Mandalorian Season 3 comes to Disney+ in February 2023. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau were on-hand to tease the upcoming season with an exclusive teaser for the crowd. According to Alex, The Mandalorian Season 3 looks bigger than previous efforts for the hit Star Wars series. We understand that the footage for The Mandalorian Season 3 will not be shared online.
In addition to revealing the release window for The Mandalorian Season 3, the event included stunning developments for several Lucasfilm projects, such as Star Wars: Andor, Ahsoka, Jon Watts’ newly-announced Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, Willow, Indiana Jones 5, and a live performance by composer John Williams. It was also confirmed that Indiana Jones 5 remains on track for its June 23, 2023 release date.
According to Alex, the place is positively pumping with hype for several new projects from Lucasfilm. He also says that hardcore Covid checks are in place as people flock to the frontlines of today’s special celebration. There is plenty of Cosplay on display, and so far, everyone is being civil as they wait for the day’s big event to unfold.
