So what is the deal with PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES? At one point this thing seemed to be moving along quite nicely with David O. Russel at the helm and Natalie Portman (below) set to star… and where are we now? Back at square one.

I mean this thing does have a director lined up in Craig Gillespie but it’s pretty much been a revolving door of writers and don’t even get me started on the female lead… Doesn’t any actresses out there feel like dressing up in frilly dresses and kicking some zombie ass?! Come on!

Reports coming in from Variety today have production on PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES pushed back from Late 2011 to Early 2012. Why? Because they can’t find a star! Ain’t that a b*tch? Though you’ve got to admit the pre-production process on this thing has been pretty insane. At least we’ve got a director and writer now. But who’s going to star? Hopefully we find out soon!

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES will tell the timeless story of a woman’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers.

Based on the novel by Seth Grahame-Smith, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES should be kicking into production early next year with Craig Gillespie at the helm.
