Man… these masks are f*cking creepy! And that alone has me stoked for THE STRANGERS. The last we told you about the flick, Eric told you all when the movie will (hopefully) be released. Well today Yahoo! Movies has the full trailer to THE STRANGERS.
And it is some freaky stuff. Sure, a lot of people see STRANGERS as a non-official remake of ILS (THEM) and sure, it looks a bit like FUNNY GAMES except as a horror. But I still think it will stand on it’s own. It’s got a couple stars in Liv Tyler (below) and Scott Speedman, with Gemma Ward, Kip Weeks, and Glenn Howerton also starring.
THE STRANGERS has been done for a while and keeps getting bounced around in regards to a release date. It looks like the reported date of May 30 is finally sticking though, seeing how Yahoo! posted the trailer this article is about. To check out the creepfest of a trailer, head over here. I also really dig the line “We always tell ourselves there’s nothing to fear…. but sometimes we’re wrong.”
This looks like one that could actually have me cringing… hey, I can hope can’t I? Plus… how can you not love Liv Tyler? STRANGERS centers on a couple who start getting terrorized by a trio of masked strangers. The film is written and directed by Bryan Bertino. Pending another date change, THE STRANGERS hits theaters May 30.
