From the light tones of WARM BODIES to the harsh darkness of REVOC…

The Hollywood Reporter has it that Summit Entertainment has just acquired REVOC, an alien based sci-fi thriller pitched by Icelandic filmmaker Olaf de Fleur (CITY STATE, above). WARM BODIES producers David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman (Mandeville Films) are onboard as well.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the story of REVOC has been described as being in the vein of DISTRICT 9 and MOON and is a post-alien invasion thriller.

Very solid templates to go off of, but you know the deal, it all depends on who stars and directs. If Summit lets this Olaf dude helm, we might get something rewardingly different. If they pander to lowest common denominator sensibilities and hire a hack, we’re in trouble. Given Summit’s track record, which way do you think the studio will go?

More on REVOC when it shines…
