With a little over a month away from release, SWEENEY TODD is starting to give us all a whole mess of new stuff. Just the other day Ammon told you all about the new trailer for the flick, and today I’m bringing you a whole batch of new stills finding their way around the net, as well as the newest poster!
SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET is looking to be something awesome. I’m a big fan of everything Tim Burton and Johnny Depp do, so I’m really looking forward to this one. You can check out a mess of new stills above and below, all looking pretty awesome, especially the one above. Can you see the twinkle in Depp’s eye? The newest poster can be seen under all the stills. It’s pretty simple, but absolutely great none the less. A simple shot of Depp with a hungry glare. Works for me.
SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spell, and Sacha Baron Cohen. It’s directed by Tim Burton and written by John Logan, of course based upon the broadway show of the same name. The detailed synopsis according to IMDB is: Based on the 19th century legend of Sweeney Todd and the hit Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Sweeney Todd a.k.a Benjamin Barker returns to London after being sent away by Judge Turpin with the help of a sailor, Anthony Hope. He opens a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett’s Meat Pie Shop were she sells “the worst pies in London.” With the help of Mrs. Lovett, Todd tries to rid of all the people who have ever done him wrong and hopes to be reunited with his daughter, Joanna, who is now Judge Turpin’s ward.
The flick opens December 21. And as the official website states, the film is rated “R” for Graphic Bloody Violence! Oh it’s gonna be a great Christmas!
