Taika Waititi’s film about MJ’s monkey Bubbles might find a home on Netflix

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

We reported on Taika Waititi's (THOR: RAGNAROK) upcoming stop-motion animated film (co-directed by Mark Gustafson, FANTASTIC MR. FOX) about Michael Jackson's pet monkey, titled BUBBLES. It's based on a 2015 Black List script by Isaac Adamson, where we see everything through Bubbles' eyes, alongside his sophisticated, overly-verbose voice-over.

Well, now it seems that Netflix is close to finishing a deal to distribute the film at Cannes. The deal is said to be somewhere in the realm of $20 million. This must have a great script!

Now, I'm certainly excited as hell (I've loved everything Waititi's done so far), but what do you Schmoes think? Sound off below!

No official release date as of this moment (Netflix hasn't even officially acquired it yet), but once we know, you'll know. Trust us.
