Teresa Palmer signs on to star in a Twilight-with-zombies movie

JoBloJoBlo

You knew this was coming eventually and here were are facing the very real prospect of a TWILIGHT-style movie with zombies instead of vampires. The film in question is WARM BODIES and is decribed as a horror-romance that follow a human who falls in love with an “existentially tormented zombie.” Ohhh lawdy.

The lovely Teresa Palmer, who at the risk of being repetitive really is quite lovely in all ways, has signed on to star as the Kristen Stewart of this film alongside Nicholas Hoult, who was once the ABOUT A BOY kid and most recently starred as Beast in X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.

The film is based on a book of the same name by Isaac Marion that you haven’t read yet because it’s one of those “we’re basing a movie on a book that hasn’t even been released yet.” Jonathan Levine, who’s directed some pretty decent movies with ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE and THE WACKNESS is set to direct for Summit Pictures.

The film has a talented cast and a talented director so is it possible they rise above their genre trappings to actually make an interesting movie? Perhaps instead of actually trying to be like TWILIGHT they’re more ironically trying to be like TWILIGHT and a human-zombie love story will be a source of comedy throughout the film? One can hope…
