The Bikeriders: Michael Shannon, Boyd Holbrook, and Damon Herriman saddle up for Jeff Nichols’ next film

Jeff Nichols‘ motorcycle drama will have to order more club member jackets because of Micheal Shannon (Man of SteelThe Shape of Water), Boyd Holbrook (LoganThe Sandman), and Damon Herriman (The NightingaleHouse of Wax). All three actors are joining the cast, which already includes Austin Butler (ElvisDune), Jodie Comer (Killing EveThe Last Duel), and Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury RoadVenom). Nichols is directing the movie, based on a fictional story inspired by the photography of Danny Lyon and his 1967 book “The Bikeriders.”

On the production side, Sarah Green and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones are producing through Tri-State. Fred Berger will executive produce. According to DeadlineThe Bikeriders is an original story set in the 1960s following the rise of a fictional Midwestern motorcycle club. Seen through the lives of its members, the club evolves over a decade from a gathering place for local outsiders into a more sinister gang, threatening the original group’s unique way of life.

The Bikeriders marks another project for Shannon and Nichols, who teamed on Nichols’ Gimme Shelter. They’ve worked together on several projects since, including Mud (2012) and Midnight Special (2016). Nichols and Shannon consistently deliver the goods. It’ll be interesting to see what they cook up for The Bikeriders.

Shannon stars alongside an ensemble of greats in David O. Russell’s upcoming historical drama Amsterdam. Set in the ’30s, Amsterdam follows three friends who witness a murder, become suspects, and uncover one of the most outrageous plots in American history. Shannon also stars in Michael Maren’s comedy Shriver. In the film, a handyman living in New York is mistaken for a famous and famously reclusive writer and brought to a university where he is to deliver a keynote address.

You can see Boyd Holbrook starring in Netflix’s The Sandman as the serial-killing nightmare known as The Corinthian. He’s also reteaming with Logan director James Mangold for Indiana Jones 5, starring Harrison Ford, Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and more.

Damon Herriman recently played Detective Inspector Lachlan Rogers in the TV series The Tourist. He plays Bruno in Armagan Ballantyne’s Nude Tuesday and has the TV mini-series Thai Cave Rescue and the films The Portable Door and Run Rabbit Run in the hopper.

Are you interested in riding alongside Shannon, Holbrook, Harriman, and the rest of the Bikeriders cast when the film motors into theaters? Let us know in the comments.
