The Brothers Sun: Michelle Yeoh’s Netflix series teaser poster highlights a star-studded dark comedy

Netflix’s Geeked Week is underway, and the streamer is celebrating the impending arrival of its dark comedy series, The Brothers Sun, with a new teaser poster. The brightly lit preview features the project’s fantastic cast, led by Oscar-winning actress Michelle Yeoh. The image depicts a gigantic sign for San Gabriel Plaza, with the names of cast members appearing like different stores in the commercial development.

In The Brothers Sun, Yeoh plays Eileen Sun, aka Mama Sun, a Taiwanese woman hoping to leave her past behind by moving to L.A. only to find herself in danger when her crime boss husband is killed.

“When the head of a powerful Taiwanese triad is shot by a mysterious assassin, his eldest son, legendary killer Charles “Chairleg” Sun (Justin Chien) heads to Los Angeles to protect his mother, Eileen (Michelle Yeoh), and his naive younger brother, Bruce (Sam Song Li) — who’s been completely sheltered from the truth of his family until now. But as Taipei’s deadliest societies and a new rising faction go head-to-head for dominance — Charles, Bruce and their mother must heal the wounds caused by their separation and figure out what brotherhood and family truly mean before one of their countless enemies kills them all.”

Highdee Kuan (You, This Is Us), Sam Song Li (Better Call Saul), Joon Lee, Madison Hu (Bizaardvark, The Boogeyman) Alice Hewkin (The Mummy, Lucky Man), Maite Garcia (Bosch: Legacy, Good Trouble), Jenny Yang (Last Man Standing, Close the Door), Jon Xue Zhang (Eternals), and Rodney To (Parks and Recreation) join Yeoh as primary cast members.

There is no release date for The Brothers Sun at this time. However, with more time to go before Netflix’s Geeked Week concludes, we could get an update beyond the project’s 2024 window.
