Well folks William Brent Bell’s THE DEVIL INSIDE is now in theaters after an over-performance it’s opening weekend. Considering the thing was a micro-budget production almost any sort of income would be a plus, right? But this thing made upwards of $30 million. That’s just ridiculous. You know what else is ridiculous? THE DEVIL INSIDE sequel talk.
That’s exactly what’s going on today over at The Wrap. Regardless of claiming “It’s a little premature,” DEVIL INSIDE executive producer Steven Schneider couldn’t help but look ahead a bit to a potential DEVIL INSIDE sequel. Check out what he told The Wrap:
“Everybody is processing what happened — the remarkable weekend we had — and feeling really good about that.”
“Certainly the filmmakers and Lorenzo (di Bonaventura) and I would all love to explore that with the studio and I think we believe that there is absolutely the potential to carry forward our storylines from the original. It would be a rather organic and fun process — and one that would lead to great results.”
So there you have it folks. This is Hollywood after all so when a flick does well the only logical thing to do is exploit that success with a sequel. Sometimes I hate this industry… Anyway we’ll keep our eyes open for more on this potential DEVIL INSIDE sequel and as soon as more news comes our way we’ll be sure to pass that shite right along to all of you.
