The Devil’s Advocate is being adapted as a television series at NBC

I don’t know about you, but I loved THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE. Despite Keanu Reeves awful accent, Taylor Hackford‘s horror/legal thriller gave us one of the last great performances from Al Pacino who chews each scene as the perfect big screen Satan. Plus, we got a sexy Charlize Theron and a buck naked Connie Nielsen in one of the most awkward sex scenes in movie history.

Well, it looks like we may get a new take on THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE as ER creator John Wells has a pilot commitment from NBC. There is no word on whether the series will be a direct adaptation of the original novel or the 1997 feature, but I would expect the show to follow the same basic plot of a young hotshot lawyer who comes to New York City and slowly learns that the boss at his law firm is the Devil himself and possibly his father.
