The first season of the “spectacularly dark” thriller series The Devil’s Hour (watch it HERE) launched exclusively on Amazon’s Prime Video on October 28th – and the show has been so successful during its first month of release, Amazon has announced that they’ve ordered two more seasons! The Devil’s Hour season 2 will begin filming sometime in early 2023.

Amazon’s Dan Grabiner had this to say about the renewal: “We’re thrilled with the audience response to The Devil’s Hour, and can’t wait to share the next chapter of this mind-bending story. Fans can look forward to plenty more twists and turns in this remarkable tale from first-time series creator Tom Moran, and welcoming back our immensely talented cast, led by Jessica Raine and Peter Capaldi.

Series creator Tom Moran added: “Telling a story on television is a precarious business. Season 1 of The Devil’s Hour was just the beginning – the opening act of a TV novel. I’m so thrilled that we get to keep turning those pages and slotting the puzzle pieces into place. If you thought the final episode of season 1 had all the answers, then you haven’t been asking the right questions.

Starring Jessica Raine (An Adventure in Space and Time) and Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who), The Devil’s Hour season 1 consists of six episodes that tell the story of

Lucy (Raine), who is woken every night by terrifying visions at exactly 3.33am: the devil’s hour. Her eight-year-old son is withdrawn and emotionless. Her mother speaks to empty chairs. Her house is haunted by the echoes of a life that isn’t her own. When Lucy’s name is inexplicably connected to a string of brutal murders in the area, the answers that have evaded her all these years will finally come into focus. Capaldi plays a reclusive nomad, driven by a murderous obsession. He becomes the prime target of a police manhunt led by compassionate detective Ravi Dhillon.

The Ravi Dhillon character is played by Nikesh Patel (Indian Summers). Also in the cast are Ramanique Ahluwalia (Wreck), Meera Syal (Yesterday), Muki Zubis (Shadow and Bone), Alex Ferns (The Batman), Phil Dunster (Ted Lasso), Barbara Marten (The Turning), Thomas Dominique (Wrath of Man), Rhiannon Harper-Rafferty (Last Light), John Alastair (Swimming with Men), Sandra Huggett (Coronation Street), Kim Allan (Outlaw King), Caleb Johnston-Miller (The Dark Within), Jimmy Walker (Dune), Kyle Rowe (Raven’s Hollow), Rosie Jones (Bodyguard), Tom Mulheron (Casualty), Tom Ashley (Emmerdale Farm), Isaac Money (The Passenger), Matt Addis (Hounded), Blake Johnston-Miller (Finky), Erica Alberti (Un medico in famiglia), and newcomers Benjamin Chivers, Cecilia Blair, and Talia Walker Bassols.

Moran executive produced The Devil’s Hour with Hartswood Films bosses Steven Moffat and Sue Vertue. Johnny Allan of Netflix’s The Irregulars directed.

Vertue provided the following statement: “It goes without saying that we are over the moon to be continuing Lucy’s story with two more series. Tom Moran and his big brain have so much more planned for us all. This was always envisioned as a three-series arc, and it’s going to be a thrilling ride.
