The Dude and Carrie Bradshaw share a beverage in new Super Bowl ad

Last week, legendary actor Jeff Bridges posted a brief teaser video to his personal Twitter account, wherein he appeared as his enigmatic slacker character, Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski, as part of the lead-up to a mysterious Super Bowl spot. Shortly after the video was shared, Little Lebowski Urban Achievers the world over began speculating wildly with regard to the nature of the video. While some believed that a proper sequel to THE BIG LEBOWSKI was poised to be announced, others suspected that the clip was merely a tease for Kahlúa – the Mexican coffee-flavored liqueur that serves as an essential ingredient for a delicious White Russian. Welp, everybody was wrong, including me.

As it turns out, the full commercial is available to watch right now, courtesy of … Stella Artois? Yup. You heard me. It's a beer commercial. Oh, and did I forget to mention that Sarah Jessica Parker also stars in the ad? That's right, and she's reprising her Carrie Bradshaw character from HBO's SEX AND THE CITY. You know, because nothing makes you think of tipping back a cold one more than Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski and Carrie Bradshaw hob-knobbing in some upscale lounge. Shit, I hope the barkeep accepts inevitably bad checks.

You can watch the commercial in-full for yourself below:

Okay, yes, I suppose that The Dude and Carrie Bradshaw are indeed icons of the '90s, but what the hell, right? Anyway, I don't know why I'm getting so worked up over this. I mean, Stella Artois is a fine choice of beer, if you're looking to drink a light and casual beverage. After all, not everything can be made by filtering the brew through crystallized bee ejaculate and hipster beard hair, right? Oh craft beers, what will you think of next?

What do you think about the Stella Artois ad? Were you hoping The Dude's resurrection would lead to something more significant? Should Carrie and The Dude hook up? Is a SEX AND THE LEBOWSKI spinoff on the way? Just kidding. Leave us your thoughts in the comments section below.
