The first trailer for Hamilton is here!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Considering that Disney paid a whopping $75 million for the rights to Lin-Manuel Miranda's stage show, HAMILTON, it's surprising that they've waited so long to drop a trailer, with it due to hit Disney+ July 3rd. Then again, maybe they figure all people really need to know is when and where they can find it, as Miranda's musical is already a full-blown cultural phenomenon. Rather than a traditional feature, this is actually a filmed version of the stage show albeit featuring the acclaimed original cast, including folks like Daveed Diggs, "MIndhunters" star Jonathon Groff, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Leslie Odom Jr., and more.

Considering that even in a pre-COVID-19 world tickets for this were pretty damn expensive, this will likely be the first time a lot of us will get the chance to experience Miranda's rap musical about founding father Alexander Hamilton. Not to mention, precious few of us have seen it with the original cast so this is exciting stuff. Notably, it was originally planned to hit theaters on December 21st, 2021, but then Disney decided to move it up a whole year and a half and make it a Disney+ exclusive – quite the treat for us subscribers. I, for one, am looking forward to finally seeing what all the fuss is about.
