Here comes SHAME. Today sees the release of a pretty intriguing trailer for the film (embedded below), which stars Michael Fassbender as “Brandon, a New Yorker who shuns intimacy with women but feeds his desires with a compulsive addiction to sex. When his wayward younger sister (Carey Mulligan) moves into his apartment stirring memories of their shared painful past, Brandon’s insular life spirals out of control.”

Director Steve McQueen- yes, I did a double-take too- has amassed a huge amount of praise for his film far, and got a lot of positive attention when it was revealed that they were going to release it in theaters with an NC-17 rating. Not many films will take that rating well, but they seem to be just fine with it, even if many theaters won’t screen a film with all that scary sexuality in it. The horror!

SHAME will open in North American theaters on December 2nd.
